Experian Consumer Direct, an online provider consumer credit reports and products, has acquired MetaReward, an Internet-based loyalty marketing company based in San Carlos CA. Experian did not disclose the terms of the acquisition.

All 50 employees will be retained, according to Experian spokesperson Heather Greer.

MetaRewards properties include NetFlip, FreeGiftCentral, MovieTicketSource and MisterPoints reward programs, as well as the ExpertsOnCredit credit advice site.

Experian will retain all 50 employees, including co-founder and COO Erik Larson, according to Heather Greer, an Experian spokesperson. The MetaRewards operations will continue to be based in San Carlos, and Larson will retain his current title, Greer added.

The acquisition expands Experian Consumer Direct’s product portfolio beyond credit reports and identity theft protection, Ed Ojdana, president of Experian Consumer Direct said in a statement.
